WALDORF, Md. — A dementia diagnosis can change everyday life for the person living with the disease. It can also reshape life for family members who suddenly become caregivers, advocates and decision-makers.
Hospice of the Chesapeake is working to make that road less overwhelming. The nonprofit helps patients and families understand the disease, coordinate care and find support close to home.
A $46,250 fiscal 2027 grant from the Charles County Charitable Trust will support that work in Charles County. The funding will help the nonprofit address dementia through care, dignity and support for patients and caregivers.

Helping Families Navigate Dementia
