HPC Hamburg Port Consulting has been appointed to support the next phase of equipment investments at the Port of Mogadishu in Somalia.
The assignment covers advisory and supervision services for the procurement and implementation of new port equipment.
The project will be carried out by a joint venture between HPC and Sellhorn Ingenieurgesellschaft.
New cargo handling equipment planned
The investment programme includes mobile harbour cranes, reachstackers and cargo control equipment.
HPC will also advise on maintenance management systems and spare parts management.
Under the mandate, the company will support the Mogadishu Port Authority in reviewing technical specifications and tender documents.
It will also assist with bid evaluations, monitor contractual milestones and oversee the implementation of the selected equipment.
The programme aims to improve cargo handling capabilities, operational efficiency and asset management at Somalia’s primary maritime gateway.
