Screenshot of “Huntingtown Master Plan of Town Centers Update Kickoff Meeting – Sept. 15, 2026” HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — More than three decades after residents identified preserving Huntingtown’s village character and addressing dangerous traffic as the community’s leading concerns, many of the same issues dominated a Sept. 15 meeting on the town center’s future.
More than 60 people attended the kickoff meeting for the Huntingtown Town Center Master Plan update , according to Calvert County. Residents who spoke raised concerns about growth, new roads, water and sewer service, and whether infrastructure changes could lead to denser development.
The meeting marked the beginning of the planning process, not a formal public hearing on a finished proposal. No draft plan has been written, no specific development project was presented and no decisions were made.
The county is reviewing concepts contained in the existing Huntingtown Town Center Master Plan , which was adopted in 1993 and has never received a comprehensive update.
