IceHogs Sign Experienced Defenseman Tyson Feist to One-Year Deal
The Rockford IceHogs announced on Monday that they have signed defenseman Tyson Feist to a one-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract. Feist, 24, spent most of the previous season with the Orlando Solar Bears, appearing in 57 games and tallying 17 points (3 goals, 14 assists). He also played six games with the Syracuse Crunch, registering one assist. Originally from Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Feist has appeared in 44 AHL games across three seasons with the Crunch and the Chicago Wolves. Additionally, he has spent part of three seasons with Orlando in the ECHL, accumulating 33 points (8 goals, 25 assists). Feist turned professional after completing his fifth season in the Western Hockey League (WHL). During the 2021-22 season, he served as captain for the Kelowna Rockets and achieved a career-high 39 points under the guidance of IceHogs assistant coach Josh MacNevin. Standing at 6'3", Feist played a total of 187 WHL games with Kelowna, Regina, and Spokane. This signing aims to bolster the IceHogs' defensive lineup with a versatile and experienced player.
