Illinois Rep Ryan Spain Celebrates Record Summer Reading Completion by Students

Illinois State Representative Ryan Spain has celebrated a record-breaking number of students completing his annual Summer Reading Challenge. Over 300 children from kindergarten to fifth grade successfully read at least eight books over the summer, qualifying for recognition. This year, a total of 315 students achieved the goal, marking the highest participation to date. "Encouraging our children to stay engaged with reading during summer break is vital for their development," said Spain. "Congratulations to all the young readers who accepted this challenge. Your dedication to learning will pave the way for future achievements, and I hope you enjoyed the experience." Participants received a letter of acknowledgment, a certificate, and a gift card for a treat—all funded independently of taxpayer money. The Summer Reading Club is organized annually through local schools and libraries, offering students additional opportunities to engage with reading programs.
