I grew up in Chisholm, the son of an Iron Range miner who spent 33 years at Minorca. I teach students with special needs in Hibbing. My wife Jamie and I are raising four children here because this is home. I ran for the Senate so the Northland would have a voice that understands what it takes to keep families on the Range.

As chair of the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board, I work to make sure mining always gives back. Minnesota has some of the most rigorous environmental-review and permitting processes in the country. We can protect our lakes and still extract the iron and critical minerals the country needs. We have done both for more than a century and still have pristine lakes and forests to enjoy. What we cannot do is let outdated rules, executive orders, and endless delays drive good jobs to other states.
