Designed by Michael Jantzen, the Interactive Transformation Table challenges traditional notions of furniture by transforming from a simple wooden box into dynamic sculptural forms.
Initially appearing as a minimalist painted wooden container with gentle, organic seam patterns, the piece features three hinged sections mounted on smooth-rolling casters. When activated, it unfolds into flowing, sweeping shapes that break away from conventional furniture design.
Inside, vibrant yellow shelves provide an element of surprise and practical storage, creating a striking contrast against the neutral exterior. This contrast encourages curiosity and invites user interaction.
As the table changes configuration, it promotes active engagement, turning furniture into a playful architectural element that combines sculpture, functionality, and personal expression. Each transformation results in a unique composition, making the piece feel lively, adaptable, and responsive to individual creativity.
