WISE Introduces Innovative Technology-Based Strategies to Address the Global Literacy and Numeracy Challenges
Doha: In response to the rising global crisis in basic literacy and numeracy skills among children, the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of the Qatar Foundation, releases its inaugural Innovation Brief focusing on transformative educational solutions for underserved populations.
Currently, over 600 million children worldwide lack fundamental reading and math abilities. The brief emphasizes scalable, technology-enabled approaches that are effectively improving learning outcomes in some of the world's most difficult environments.
Titled 'Accelerating Foundational Literacy and Numeracy: Leveraging Technology and Local Resources for Educational Change in Crisis and Low-Resource Settings,' the report tackles critical issues like global teacher shortages and widespread learning poverty, particularly in conflict zones and resource-limited regions.
