Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Troy Jackson, who has built his campaign around fighting billionaires, corporations and a political system he says is stacked against working people, is leaving Maine this week for a high-dollar New York City fundraiser where suggested contribution levels climb as high as $13,500.
Jackson is scheduled to appear Wednesday, Sept. 23, as the special guest at a fundraising reception in Park Slope, Brooklyn, according to an invitation reviewed by The Maine Wire and separately reported by POLITICO.
The trip raises a new question less than two months before Election Day: Does Jackson need money badly enough that his campaign believes it is worth taking its candidate off the campaign trail in Maine to raise it from donors in New York?
The answer is difficult to determine from currently available federal campaign-finance records.
The Federal Election Commission does not yet display a complete financial summary for Jackson’s principal campaign committee for the 2025-26 cycle. The FEC identifies Troy Jackson for Maine as his principal campaign committee but says financial-summary data are not currently available.
