The Jacksonville men's rowing team has announced the addition of eight new athletes for the 2025-26 season, featuring a diverse group from around the globe. Head coach Preston Weinard praised the recruits, highlighting their athleticism, intelligence, and strong work ethic, which he believes will energize and strengthen the team. The incoming class includes seven freshmen and one transfer student. Ethan Penny, a graduate student from Reidsville, North Carolina, joins as the only transfer, boasting a successful club rowing career with two national singles championships at High Point.
Among the freshmen, two are international talents: Angus Murfett from Ballarat, Australia, who reached the Under 21 Grand Final at the Australian National Championships, and Stefan Kuzmanovic from Belgrade, Serbia, a former Serbian junior national team member who competed at the Balkan Rowing Championship. The remaining recruits are from various U.S. states, bringing experience from high school, club, and national competitions.
