JB Pritzker announces he's lost 80 lbs through GLP-1s
GLP-1s have increasingly gained prominence in recent years as effective weight-loss drugs.
Gov. JB Pritzker, D-Ill., on Monday announced that he had lost 80 lbs through the use of GLP-1 medication, after he was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago.
Priztker confirmed the diagnosis and his weight loss on Monday, in an interview with CBS News. He had not previously disclosed his condition.
GLP-1s have increasingly gained prominence in recent years as effective weight-loss drugs. Several celebrities have been seen to lose large amounts of weight due to their use.
The medication works largely by curbing one's appetite and thereby reducing the amount of calories the user consumes.
