Jeff Hafley Reveals Dolphins’ Plan With Chop Robinson Out vs. 49ers
The Miami Dolphins will have to find a way to generate pressure without Chop Robinson when they take on the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.
Head coach Jeff Hafley confirmed Friday that Robinson suffered a concussion during practice and has entered the NFL’s concussion protocol. Robinson will not play this week.
“Everyone’s going to ask me about Chop, so I’ll just jump right into that,” Hafley said. “Chop did sustain a concussion during practice; he is in the protocol. He will not play this week. He is doing well.”
With Robinson sidelined, Miami will have to reshuffle its defensive front and rely on several players to pick up the missing snaps.
There does not appear to be one player who will simply slide into Robinson’s role.
Hafley indicated that Malik Herring and Clelin Ferrell are among the players who could see increased responsibilities, while the Dolphins may also make some schematic adjustments.
“It’s all of the above and we might do some other things to help out,” Hafley said. “But those guys, I have confidence in. They’ve been getting better.”
