The Jets have placed injured rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. on short-term injured reserve. This comes as a result of the ankle sprain he suffered in week 1 against the Titans. So now the Jets will be without Cooper for at least four weeks. With the Jets sitting at 1-0 and plenty of weapons to work with this is the right move.
While the Jets can go to battle with Garrett Wilson, AD Mitchell, Kenyon Sadiq, Breece Hall, etc… on offense, Cooper can heal up rather than run the risk of playing through the injury and having it linger all season long.
Darren Mougey and company also elevated kicker Jason Sanders to the 53-man roster. Sanders had a terrible shank on a short field goal attempt last week, but then drilled consecutive kicks from beyond fifty yards.
