Joanna Sokirka OBITUARY

Joanna Sokirka, 98, of Olyphant, passed away Tuesday morning at home under the care of Traditional Home Hospice. She was the widow of John Sokirka who passed away in 1996.

Born in Archbald, daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Maslar Kollar, she resided in Olyphant for the past 75 years, and was a graduate of Blakely High School, class of 1945. Joanna was a devoted member of S.S. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Olyphant, and loved her Church very much, and was very active in Church activities and the Choir.

She is survived by a son, John Sokirka of Blakely; a daughter, Joanne Hague, also of Blakely; 5 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

There are no funeral home viewing hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the John J. Turko & Sons Funeral Home, Dickson City.
