Over the weekend, Dead and Company marked six decades of the Grateful Dead’s legacy with a series of concerts in San Francisco. John Mayer expressed his deep gratitude for being part of this milestone celebration. In an Instagram post, the guitarist conveyed his appreciation to fans for embracing him as he paid homage to the band’s enduring influence.
"Night 3 in Golden Gate Park celebrating 60 years of @gratefuldead will be unforgettable," Mayer shared, also thanking Graheme Lesh, son of the late bassist Phil Lesh, for performing with the band across all three nights. Phil Lesh, a founding member, passed away in October 2024, and his son joined the band for a rendition of "Morning Dew" on Saturday.
"No matter how many shows we play, I will always see myself as a guest in this musical world, and I recognize the immense honor it is," Mayer reflected. "Happy 60th, Grateful Dead, and may your music continue to thrive, @bobweir, @mickeyhart, and @billkreutzmann."
