Monrovia – The U.S. Embassy in Liberia Announces New Appointment
The U.S. Embassy in Liberia has announced the appointment of Joseph E. Zadrozny as the interim Chargé d’Affaires, succeeding the early retirement of Ambassador Mark Toner.
Mr. Zadrozny's Assumption of Responsibilities
Mr. Zadrozny assumed his new responsibilities in August 2025, having joined Liberia as Deputy Chief of Mission the previous month. With over twenty years of diplomatic service, he offers a wealth of leadership experience and international expertise.
Recent and Previous Roles
According to the embassy, Zadrozny most recently served as Management Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria (2023–2025). His previous roles include acting as Chargé d’Affaires in Port Moresby, overseeing U.S. relations with Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.
Diplomatic Career Highlights
His diplomatic career features significant postings across China, including as Consul General in Wuhan, as well as assignments in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenyang. His international experience extends to Germany (Berlin and Frankfurt), Uzbekistan, and Mongolia.
