Joseph David Green, 76, formerly of Moscow who was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday September 16th. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ann D’Oro Green.
Born in Scranton, son of Catherine Bonitz Green, Scranton and the late John Green, he graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1969 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy, embodying the virtues of courage and dedication throughout his life. After his honorable military service, Joseph found his calling in the workforce, initially in the trucking industry. His career path eventually led him to the North Pocono School District, where he worked until his retirement as the Director of Grounds. Joseph was a man of many passions, which he pursued with enthusiasm. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found peace and adventure in the great outdoors. His love for country music and county line dancing brought him and Linda much happiness, as did their frequent trips to the beach. Joseph also appreciated the simple pleasure of a good cigar while watching a New York Yankees game.
