After 30 years on the bench, Judge Judy is preparing to hang up her robe and step away from on-camera television. Judy Sheindlin, the 83-year-old personality behind the longtime show “Judge Judy,” is stepping away from the camera as her current show, “Judy Justice,” comes to an end on Oct. 22 .
Her legacy, though, will continue as she passes the gavel to her son, Adam Levy. Sheindlin created and executive produces “Adam’s Law,” which premieres today, almost 30 years after Judge Judy premiered.
“Adam’s Law” is a new courtroom show following Levy as he takes the bench, just as his mother did. “There aren’t a lot of people who can carry a half hour on their own, unscripted,” Sheindlin told People . “He has what it takes”.
Levy has over 25 years of legal experience and served two terms as Putnam County district attorney in New York. He has also appeared as a judge on Tribunal Justice and Justice on Trial. Now, Levy will be taking the bench on “Adam’s Law”.
