linkedin email reddit (RTTNews) - Kala Bio, Inc. (KALA) announced that it and Virotek Inc. have signed a non-binding letter of intent with a U.S. DNA testing platform under which the platform would resell selected genomic testing products from Virotek.
The proposed arrangement would expand the companies' genetic testing collaboration beyond ophthalmology through an additional U.S. reseller channel.
The commercial and economic terms are still being finalized, and the parties expect to identify the reselling parties in the coming weeks if negotiations are completed.
The LOI follows an exclusive U.S. distribution and reseller agreement between Kala and Virotek announced on September 3, 2026.
Under that agreement, Kala markets and distributes Virotek's genetic testing and screening program in the U.S., while Virotek handles laboratory infrastructure, test kits, specimen processing and clinical reporting.
