Katy Ruderman G25 Appointed Head Coach of Bucknell Women's Rowing
Bucknell University has appointed Katy Ruderman G'25 as the new head coach for its women's rowing program. Ruderman previously served as the associate head coach at Hobart College, starting in August 2022. Deputy Athletic Director Liz Dennison praised Ruderman's impactful contributions to Hobart's rowing team and athletics, expressing confidence in her leadership at Bucknell. During her tenure at Hobart, Ruderman guided the team to secure four medals at the National Invitational Rowing Championships, including silver and bronze medals in spring competitions. Her efforts also contributed to the team's participation in the IRA Championships and strong performances at the Head of the Charles Regatta and Cayuga Duels. Ruderman has mentored 20 IRCA Scholar-Athletes and played a key role in recruiting, training, and developing race strategies, as well as establishing a coxswain development program. She will also coach the US Rowing Para PR3 National Team in Shanghai this September. Ruderman holds a master's degree in higher education leadership from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and is a Level 3 USRowing-certified coach. She is also a founding member of the HWS Athlete Ally chapter.
