Kavitha Ends 72-Hour Hunger Strike Following Telangana High Court's Denial of Permission for Protest Site In Hyderabad, on August 4, Telangana Jagruthi President and BRS Member of Legislative Council K. Kavitha discontinued her 72-hour fast on Monday evening after the High Court rejected her plea to use Dharna Chowk as the venue for her demonstration. Initiating her fast at 10 a.m., Kavitha announced via X that she was compelled to halt her protest due to the court's decision not to grant permission to Telangana Jagruthi and the United Phule Front (UPF) to utilize the designated area. Despite the setback, Kavitha indicated that Telangana Jagruthi and UPF plan to regroup with a stronger strategy, incorporating legal and other measures, to pressurize the Congress and BJP parties, which she accuses of denying the OBC communities their rightful representation in local elections. The protest aimed to advocate for 42% reservation for Backward Classes in education, employment, and local governance.
