Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced the United States has officially banned thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative previously used in vaccines for over two decades. Kennedy, who championed this cause for more than 20 years, criticized federal health agencies for permitting the injection of this neurotoxin into pregnant women and children, despite extensive scientific evidence of its harmful effects.
In a comprehensive video statement, Kennedy expressed pride in fulfilling a long-standing commitment to shield vulnerable populations from unnecessary mercury exposure. Thimerosal, containing ethylmercury, was traditionally included in multi-dose vaccine vials, notably in flu shots administered to pregnant women and children. Kennedy highlighted that the CDC continued its use despite overwhelming research indicating its neurotoxicity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, and reproductive hazards.
He pointed out that the levels of ethylmercury in these vaccines vastly exceed safety thresholds, with the amount in flu shots being 25,000 times greater than the EPA’s safety limit for drinking water. Kennedy criticized federal agencies for ignoring scientific warnings, citing a 2001 FDA testimony r...
