It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ken, 86, of Point Loma on August 4th surrounded by his family. Ken was born in Alton, Illinois and spent summers on his grandparent’s farm where he was happy spending the days with his horse, Tip. He moved to San Diego in 1952. He met the love of his life, Bonnie, at Point Loma High School in his senior year. He called her to invite her to the homecoming dance with him and she thought the call was from another boy in her Civics class and said yes. When she opened the door on the night of the dance, she was surprised to see Ken standing there. They went to the dance and two days later were going steady.
Ken received his Bachelors of Science in Physics from San Diego State University in 1963. President John F. Kennedy attended his graduation in Aztec Bowl along with Bonnie and his son, Tom. He started his career at Cimron, Hughes Oceanside & Cubic and proceeded to work as an Engineer at many companies including Honeywell, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, and Northrup Grumman over the course of his 50+ years of work.
