GLENWOOD – The twelfth-ranked Kuemper Catholic Knights went on the road and defeated the eleventh-ranked Glenwood Rams 3-1 on Tuesday night. It was a statement win for Kuemper Catholic and builds on their already impressive start to the season.
Starting the night with a first-set win was huge for the Knights. They battled through a close 25-22 set and showed great poise in the closing moments, setting the tone and carrying that momentum into the rest of the match. This was evident in the second set, where Kuemper Catholic took a convincing 25-16 win to grab a commanding 2-0 lead on the match. They just merely missed out on a sweep, however, as the Rams took a hard-fought victory in set three by a score of 25-23. The Knights put a quick end to their comeback hopes, though, steamrolling their way to a 25-10 match-clinching win in the fourth set.
