A New Braunfels man was struck and killed Monday, Sept. 7, while changing a tire on his travel trailer alongside State Highway 172 near La Ward.
Officials say Benjamin Lee Faulk, 36, died at the scene just minutes before 1 p.m. on Labor Day.
The driver who hit him did not stop, and investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying those involved.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying vehicles and individuals who may have information regarding the fatal hit-and-run crash, DPS public information officer Rueben San Miguel said in a statement released last week.
A preliminary investigation indicates Faulk was outside a travel trailer replacing a damaged tire when he was struck by a passing vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are attempting to identify two vehicles observed pulling onto the northbound shoulder about 100 yards from the scene shortly after the crash before leaving the area. The occupants of those vehicles may have information that could assist investigators.
