The Lady Cats’ match against the Dougherty Lady Trojans last Tuesday was over before it began, as the team — now 12-3 on the season — won 15-0 in three innings.

The Lady Cats tallied 10 runs in the first inning alone. Third baseman Kylaha Hughes and pitcher Emsleigh Glass each singled. Hughes scored one run, and Glass scored two.

Left fielder Alyssa Madge, catcher Taydem Burris and second baseman Katelyn Williams all drew walks, scoring one run each. Shortstop Auburn Culpepper doubled, scoring four more runs off two errors committed by the Lady Trojans.

The Lady Cats added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Madge was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Burris doubled soon after, scoring three more.

Culpepper earned the win for the Lady Cats in the circle. She gave up one hit, zero runs, striking out seven and walking none over three innings.

Overall, the Lady Cats had a strong eye at the plate and tallied eight walks as a team. First baseman Zy’Kiah Donaldson and right fielder Azariah Reyes led the team with two walks each.
