A piece of Lake County agricultural history is making a comeback, and the Lakeview FFA Alumni Association is inviting local livestock owners to be part of it. The project is modeled after a similar wild rag design believed to have been created in Lake County during the 1980s. The wild rag features approximately 120 brands with associated ranch name.
The goal is more than creating a unique piece of Western apparel. Organizers hope the project will celebrate the ranching families and agricultural traditions that have helped shape the Lake County community for generations, while also raising funds to support Lakeview FFA students.
Funds raised through the project will directly benefit the Lakeview FFA Chapter. The Lakeview FFA Alumni Association uses its support to provide scholarships for Lakeview FFA seniors, sponsor Lake County Fair awards, provide travel and leadership opportunities, and assist the chapter with general needs and activities.
Brand submissions will be accepted through Nov. 1.
To participate, submit:
- A clear image or copy of your brand card or brand-book entry
- The name or ranch name the brand is registered to
- An image of the actual brand rather than a drawing
