Focused and Humble: Landen Williams-Callis Emphasizes Hard Work Over Hype
Landen Williams-Callis’s rise to prominence was swift, marked by a state championship, two MVP honors, and a growing list of Division I scholarship offers—all before his junior year. Despite the increasing attention, Williams-Callis remains true to his roots at Randle High, exemplifying dependability, determination, and focus.
"We won't let last year's praise inflate our heads," he stated. "It's back to work for us, and we're committed to making another run at the State title without being distracted by external noise."
This unwavering focus contributed to the Lions’ flawless 16-0 record in 2024, culminating in a thrilling 38-35 victory over South Oak Cliff to secure their first UIL State Championship. The triumph was a milestone not only for the team but also for head coach Brian Randle, whose father, Dr. Thomas E. Randle, is the school's namesake.
"It was surreal," Williams-Callis recalled. "Initially, it didn't feel real, but once we took a moment to soak it in, the celebration at the Airbnb was unforgettable."
He was named UIL 5A-DII State Offensive MVP and earned his second consecutive District MVP award...
