Conserve Big Bend, the umbrella nonprofit behind the No Big Bend Wall initiative, set a press conference for 10 a.m. Monday at the Presidio County Courthouse in Marfa to “announce a significant legal development in the ongoing effort to stop border wall and infrastructure construction across the greater Big Bend region.”
According to a news release, Conserve Big Bend coordinates with over 200 directly impacted landowners in the Big Bend region, where approximately 65% of the 609 miles of “Big Bend Projects” is private property. Landowners in Hudspeth, Presidio, Brewster, Terrell and Val Verde counties face a patchwork of border barrier plans, including 30-foot steel wall, vehicle barriers, patrol roads and detection technology.
