LCA SOC: Underwood’s eight goals lead Lions past Berean Christian
Kayla Underwood’s legacy will be a big one once she closes out her career at Lakeway Christian.
Her latest monumental achievement came on the soccer pitch, as the multi-sport senior pounded eight goals into the net in a 9-2 victory for the Lions over Berean Christian on Tuesday evening.
Lakeway Christian (5-8) has worked its way through a challenging season. With severe attrition hitting its roster, the program has been forced to call off or postpone several matches in the second half of the season.
Underwood had been a part of those affected by ailments, so making a return to the turf on Tuesday, she seemed to exorcise some of the frustration held by not just her, but the rest of the team as the Lions look to settle in with the end of the regular season quickly approaching.
Kylie Pollock scored the additional goal for Lakeway, as she continues to be an encouraging piece to Lakeway’s future as an eighth-grade starter.
The Lions continue their season on Thursday at Daniel Boone, then follow that on Monday at home against Cocke County.
