MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The League of Women Voters of West Virginia is urging voters to reject Amendment 1, a proposed constitutional amendment that will appear on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
The amendment, approved by the Republican-led Legislature and designated the “Citizenship Requirement to Vote in West Virginia Elections Amendment,” would amend Article IV, Section 1 of the West Virginia Constitution to state that only citizens of the United States who are citizens of West Virginia may vote in elections held in the state.
