Ledford’s Avery Dunbar won the singles championship and Oak Grove’s tandem of Sophia Broverman and Isabella Morris won the doubles title in the second annual Davidson County Girls’ Tennis Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Bingham Tennis Center in Lexington.
Dunbar defeated Sadie Nguyen of East Davidson in the finals 6-1, 6-3. To get to the championship match, Dunbar took down Isabella Toohy of Central Davidson in the opening round (6-1, 6-1) and then topped Ashlyn Klass of Oak Grove 6-2, 6-2 in the second round. She then upended top-seeded and defending singles champion Emerson Lemley of West Davidson in the semifinals 6-2, 6-2.
