It’s a Thursday night, and the lounge at the ultra-hip Casa Loma Beach Hotel is thrumming. A jazzy duo, Silas Short, is bathed in swaths of sherbet-colored sunset coming from the cliffside behind, the light as soothing as the sounds.
This is a pop-up social club designed around the concept “Music for Friends and Lovers” in the bar at Casa Loma. The series reflects precisely what John Grossman, President of Marc & Rose, always wanted to reflect at his oceanside boutique hotel: what he calls “elevating hospitality through light, sound, and space.” This year’s musical offerings are part of his hotel’s partnership with L.A.’s beloved dublab radio , a group Grossman calls “kindred spirits.”
“Music for Friends & Lovers” is an expansion of Grossman’s Fadeaway Sessions , created to support the environment, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the environmental nonprofit 1% FOR THE PLANET. Attendees must be actively staying at the hotel to attend the otherwise ticketless show.
