An umbrella group that represents the largest Jewish organizations in the United Kingdom is demanding answers from LiveNation UK for promoting Macklemore’s “Free Palestine” tour that was announced on Thursday.
The Seattle-based rapper’s new tour will start in Dublin on Oct. 26, followed by Paris on Oct. 29 and London on Oct. 30. Collaborating artists will be announced soon as well as US dates. Tickets go on sale next week.
Macklemore said all proceeds from the tour will go to organizations supporting “Palestine and the Palestinian movement,” including the anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The US government discovered that more than 100 UNRWA staff members were linked to the Hamas and participated in the Palestinian terrorist group’s deadly attack in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
