GRAND FORKS — About six months after the closure of the East Grand Forks American Legion building, BJ Armani’s Cabaret is hopeful about its new performance location.
The cabaret held its first show on Saturday at the Hilton Garden Inn. Sarah Galbraith, also known as BJ Armani, said there will be more shows booked there until at least December.

“Of course the whole thing is how it goes on Saturday, but I don’t think we’re that worried,” she told the Grand Forks Herald on Thursday.
Saturday’s show featured an audience that nearly filled the 184 seats in the Hilton Garden Inn’s ballroom.
For some who had attended BJ Armani’s Cabaret at its old home at the Legion building, it was a welcome return to attend the one at the hotel.
“It’s nice to see an inclusive environment where people can genuinely be themselves and feel comfortable being themselves,” said Kass Logsdon, one of the attendees.
Grace Scott, catering sales manager at the Hilton Garden Inn, was the one to reach out and offer the hotel as a new venue for the cabaret.
“I love the shows; I feel like they’re very important for the community,” she said.
