Just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, the Lockport Township Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire in the 1300 block of S. Washington Street in Lockport. The fire was located in the basement of a single-story, single-family home.
The occupants were home at the time of the incident and evacuated safely.
Fire crews quickly brought the fire under control, and those crews successfully located and removed four cats and reunited them with the family. The Lockport Fire Investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
