Steven Eubank, the longtime EMS chief for Somerset-Pulaski County, has officially stepped down after dedicating nearly a quarter-century to emergency medical services. His tenure included navigating significant challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of a team member in the line of duty.
Despite his reserved nature, Eubank emphasized safety and awareness as his final messages to the public, urging drivers to "Pull to the right. Pay attention. Put your cell phones down"—a reflection of his commitment to protecting fellow responders and the community.
He concluded his career on July 31, having served as chief for the past seven years, with prior roles including assistant chief from 2013 to 2018. While retirement is a major milestone, Eubank hinted at continued involvement in Kentucky EMS, though he remains undecided about specific plans, focusing initially on personal projects and farm life.
