Lyme Regis Hosts Exciting 2025 Regatta Featuring Dinghies and Cruisers The Lyme Regis Regatta took place over the weekend of August 2nd and 3rd, attracting a total of 26 dinghies and 9 cruisers competing in a thrilling series of races. The event featured separate competitions for dinghies, which participated in a four-race General Handicap series, and cruisers, which competed in three races. On Sunday afternoon, both classes united for the prestigious Championship of the Day race. Saturday's racing commenced under a light northeasterly breeze before shifting to a forecasted southwest F3 wind. An initial postponement was initiated to allow the wind to stabilize and the course to be reset, providing spectators with a delightful sighting of playful dolphins swimming between the boats and leaping out of the water. Following Saturday's races, participants and spectators enjoyed a social barbecue, fostering camaraderie among the sailing community.
