MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — Lonnie Morken has reached yet another coaching milestone.
In his 33rd year at the helm of the Mabel-Canton volleyball program, Morken earned his 900th career win as the Cougars beat Coon Rapids on Saturday during the Heritage Christian Academy Eagle Invitational tournament in Maple Grove.

The Cougars defeated Spectrum and Coon Rapids on Sept. 19 to win the tournament, improving to 8-1 overall (5-0 in Southeast Conference play).
Morken became the second-most-winning volleyball coach in the state last season when he
reached 885 wins
on Sept. 25, 2025. Former Stewartville Hall of Fame coach John Dzubay remains in first place, retiring with 1,039 wins after 47 years in 2024.
