Mal Meninga's Perspective on Challenging Seasons for Coaches
Mal Meninga, the first coach of the Perth Bears, has publicly shared his sympathy for Wayne Bennett and Des Hasler following challenging seasons at their respective clubs.
Upcoming 'Spoon Bowl' and Coaches' Careers
This week, both experienced head coaches are set to face off in what many are calling this year's 'spoon bowl'.
Meninga's Remarks on the Coaches
"I feel for both of them," Meninga remarked during an interview on SENQ Breakfast.
"Instead of focusing on the wooden spoon, we should be celebrating their distinguished careers."
He added that one of them will unfortunately end up with the unwanted title.
Injury Crisis and Team Performances
Meninga highlighted the South Sydney Rabbitohs' injury crisis as a major factor behind their poor form.
"The Rabbitohs definitely don’t deserve the spoon, especially considering their tough injury run," he explained.
"They're fielding a lot of young players right now, which makes their struggles understandable."
