Mamdani: El-Sayed’s Victory ‘of Critical Importance to’ New York City
“It details the group’s strategy to infiltrate ideologically, democratically — through nonviolent means — North American society to sabotage it from within.”
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani no longer even tries to hide his socialist vision of America. During a Tuesday press conference, a reporter noted that he’d attended a fundraiser for Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed earlier this month. She asked how important he sees an El-Sayed victory to his own political project in New York and if he planned to show support for other Democratic or progressive candidates for the midterms.
Heck, yes the mayor replied. El-Sayed’s “victory and the victory of Democrats across this country is of critical importance.” Here is his full response:
Our movement here in New York City is a movement that is part of something national which is a fight for working people. When you think about Dr. El-Sayed’s campaign, I often go back to the way that he describes it. Money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for all.
Those are concerns that ring true for Michiganders. They’re also concerns that ring true for New Yorke...
