Man breaks McDonald’s employee’s arm after being asked to leave for making female worker uncomfortable
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - A man was arrested after police said he broke an employee’s arm during a dispute at a McDonald’s restaurant in Nashville.
According to an arrest affidavit, Metro Nashville Police first encountered Javaunn Brown at a bus stop near the Eighth Avenue South McDonald’s, where he told them that he had been harassed by workers “for no reason at all.”
Police then spoke with restaurant employees, who said Brown had been flirting with a cashier and making her uncomfortable.
When the woman’s coworker Ethan Caldwell noticed the cashier’s discomfort, he asked her to step into the back of the restaurant and informed Brown that the dining room was closing and he needed to leave, according to the affidavit.
Caldwell then followed Brown to the door so that he could lock it once he left. He was about to do so when the affidavit says that “Brown pulled the door hard and fast, causing Mr. Caldwell to break his right arm, requiring surgery.” Caldwell was taken to the hospital due to severe pain.
Brown is now being charged with aggravated assault.
