A 20-year-old man faces multiple charges following a high-speed chase and crash in Starkville. Early Saturday morning at approximately 1:04 am, police officers observed two vehicles engaging in drag racing along westbound Highway 182. Efforts to halt the vehicles led to a pursuit, with one vehicle pursued onto Old West Point Road. The driver lost control after turning onto University Drive, resulting in a collision with an apartment complex near the intersection of University Drive and Old West Point Road. The driver, identified as Jaheim Woodard from Weir, was apprehended and held on charges including failure to obey a police signal, drag racing, and two counts of neglecting a minor.
