A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Connecticut Saturday night after he lost control of his bike and was thrown into a utility pole, according to police .
First responders were called to the crash on Mountain Road near Sorghum Mill Drive in Cheshire shortly after 10:15 p.m., Cheshire police said. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist was traveling south on Mountain Road when he lost control of his bike and left the roadway, police said. The motorcyclist was then thrown from his bike into a utility pole.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the motorcyclist's cause of death, police said. Authorities are not releasing his identity pending next of kin notification.
The Cheshire Police Traffic Division and members of the Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team are investigating the crash. Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call Officer Kevin Zaksewicz at 203-271-5541.
