Man, woman arrested after infant dies

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – A man and woman are being held without bond after the death of an infant.

The Tupelo Police Department reports that on Sept. 18, its officers were called to the Super 7 Inn on McCullough for an unresponsive infant.

The baby was taken to the hospital, where the infant was later pronounced dead, the report said.

Daniel Ross, 37, of Plantersville, and Charity Burdine, 33, of Tupelo, have each been charged with felony child abuse following an investigation.

Tupelo Police said they were ordered to be held without bond and that the case is ongoing, adding that further charges could be pending at a later date.
