This year’s summer transfer window saw Manchester United focus their recruitment on midfield positions with improvement the objective
Aiming to replace Casemiro, and fill the gap left by Manuel Ugarte after his knee ligament injury, the Red Devils signed Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba.
United’s work across positions in the middle of the park stretched far beyond the finished product, however, and followed months of work in scouting, negotiating, and talking.
Whilst the club are expected to spend next summer’s transfer window targeting defensive positions, room still exists for the side to look towards other spots across the field.
One of those positions is in attacking midfielder, where Manchester United currently have large amounts of depth with both Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha, among others.
Reports from Fussball News have now revealed that United, alongside Manchester City and Arsenal, are closely monitoring the progress of Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Ibrahim Maza.
The outlet have also said that LaLiga outfit Atletico Madrid are interested in the 20-year-old, with themselves and City already in contact with the player’s representatives.
