SF's public-transit enthusiasts can now customize their own tees and tote bags with Muni-inspired designs.
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and Uniqlo have released a new collection which allows customers to design their own apparel featuring artwork the agency said is inspired by The City’s cable car, as well as vintage and archival photographs sourced from the SFMTA’s creative services team.
The SFMTA’s latest creative offering celebrates this month’s grand opening of the Japanese retailer’s West Coast flagship on Market Street and is the second time the two organizations have collaborated.
“This collection is a love letter to San Francisco,” SFMTA Director of Transportation Julie Kirschbaum said in a statement.
The customized totes and shirts, Kirschbaum said, are also meant to serve as reminders to store shoppers that Muni can help them navigate the surrounding area and other parts of San Francisco.
“A vibrant downtown depends on people being able to get there,” Kirschbaum said. “Muni carries customers to every corner of this city.”
