Marvel Television is expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s espionage side with Zodiac, a new live-action spy thriller series scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in 2028. Announced during New York Comic Con, the project has already sparked speculation about a possible connection to S.H.I.E.L.D. and the shadowy organizations operating behind the scenes of the MCU.
The announcement came during Marvel Television’s NYCC panel, where studio chief Brad Winderbaum confirmed that casting is expected to begin within the next couple of weeks. Production is also anticipated to start sometime in 2027, although Marvel has yet to reveal the show’s cast, creative team, or detailed storyline.
For now, the studio is keeping most of the project’s secrets under wraps. However, the spy-thriller premise and the Zodiac title have given fans plenty of reasons to start wondering where the series could fit into the larger MCU.

One of the biggest talking points following the announcement is the show’s logo, which has prompted speculation that Zodiac could be connected to S.H.I.E.L.D., the intelligence organization once led by Nick Fury.
