Crews repairing the Mary Rhodes Pipeline have discovered that approximately 17 feet of damaged pipe must be replaced following a leak detected last week, with repairs now expected to be completed by Friday.
Corpus Christi Water said crews have fully uncovered the damaged section of the pipeline and expanded the work area to prepare for its removal.
Replacement materials, including 64-inch pipe stored at the Woodsboro Pump Station, are being prepared for installation. Welders are also on-site to begin removing and replacing the damaged section.

In the meantime, the pipeline remains offline as the city works with regional customers and partners to manage the area's water supply.
To help maintain water service, the city has increased production from the Nueces Groundwater Program and continues releasing water from Wesley Seale Dam.
Both sources deliver water through the Nueces River to the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant, where it is treated before being distributed to customers.
