The city of Key West and District V Commissioner Chris Massicotte recently announced an upcoming Higgs Beach Community Input Meeting that will take place Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Higgs Beach Pavilion.
The meeting will serve as an open discussion among residents and city staff to provide any comments, concerns, questions and ideas as the city looks into shaping the future of Higgs Beach.
“At the last City Commission Meeting we postponed an item asking Bender and Associates to come up with a draft plan for Higgs Beach, because I wanted residents to have more time to give input that we can give to them,” Massicotte wrote in an email to the community.
The item was discussed in the Sept. 3 meeting, and postponed to Nov. 5.
The resolution, as it stands, would approve a $188,130 task order with Bender & Associates Architects for professional design services for Higgs Beach master planning, under the firm’s general architectural services contract with the city, according to the agenda.
